Our Mission

Project S.A.V.E.'s mission is to provide people recovering from trauma support as well as an open space to heal. We educate and advocate, working to combat sexual and domestic violence wherever it lies. Because everyone is unique, we believe in treatments tailored to individuals’ needs.

Project S.A.V.E took off when founder, Arlana realized the shortage in the city for resources dedicated to survivors of these traumatic events. It was then and there that Project S.A.V.E was created not only for sexual assault/domestic violence but also for mental health challenges. Project S.A.V.E is an organization that wants to create a space where you won't need to go different places to get different services, all services are in one. Project S.A.V.E through specialized advisement and treatment services works to identify not only a safe haven for the time spent at Project S.A.V.E but for the time thereafter.

History of Symbol

When posed with the question of the symbol of the organization, Arlana wanted to make it a bold but clear message. Arlana wanted to make sure that if you saw the logo without the words, you would know it was Project S.A.V.E. Knowing that colors can tell and represent stories, Arlana decided to incorporate the meaning into the symbol. The official brand colors became teal and purple, in recognition of sexual assault and domestic violence awareness. In 2021 hints of green were added to include Mental Health Awareness.

Now that the colors were sought out, the symbol was next. The symbol needed to stand out and represent voices from all over. Arlana combed through the internet, day in and day out, looking for the “right” symbol. Arlana decided to try one last search “universal survival symbol” and there appeared the symbol for Project S.A.V.E. The symbol was originally created by survivor Jackie Lin in solidarity with Lady Gaga. During the 2016 Oscars, Lady Gaga along with 50 sexual assault survivors joined hands-on stage during a live performance of ‘Til it Happens to You’.

When asked how Arlana knew it was the right one, “This symbol represents unbelievable resilience and strength. I wanted a symbol that people could look at it and know that through the pain we were united but through the power of unity we are empowered.”

Testmonial

“I came to Project S.A.V.E through a referral from another agency. I was skeptical as first, due to my history. But after speaking and seeing how much they cared, I never wanted to lose contact.
