About Project S.A.V.E

We Stabilize. We Heal. We Connect.

Project S.A.V.E is a community-focused organization providing survivor-centered support to individuals impacted by sexual violence, intimate partner violence, trauma, and mental health challenges. We help individuals move from crisis toward healing, stability, and connection through advocacy, mental health services, peer support, wellness programming, and community resources.

Why We Exist

Project S.A.V.E was founded in 2016 to address the need for accessible, compassionate support for individuals navigating violence, trauma, and its lasting effects. When someone is already experiencing crisis, finding the right support and navigating complex systems can create additional barriers to healing. Project S.A.V.E was created to help make that process easier.

Through our programs and community partnerships, we provide direct support while connecting individuals to additional resources when needed. Our goal is to help people move toward safety, healing, stability, and connection.

Our Approach

We recognize that healing looks different for everyone. Our approach is grounded in:

Survivor-Centered: We listen, respect individual choices, and provide support based on each person's needs and goals.

Trauma-Informed: We prioritize safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

Accessible: We work to make support easier to reach through accessible services, sliding-scale options, and community resources.

Connected: When additional support is needed, we connect individuals with trusted providers and community resources.

Our Story

Founded in 2016, Project S.A.V.E began as a grassroots effort to address gaps in support for individuals impacted by sexual violence, intimate partner violence, trauma, and mental health challenges. Over the years, our work has grown to include advocacy, mental health services, peer support, wellness programming, education, and community resource connections. While our programs continue to evolve with the needs of our community, our commitment remains the same: creating accessible pathways from crisis toward healing, stability, and connection.

The Story Behind Our Symbol

When choosing the symbol for Project S.A.V.E, Arlana wanted something bold, recognizable, and meaningful, something that, even without the organization's name, would immediately feel connected to Project S.A.V.E.

Because colors can tell stories, the organization's brand colors were intentionally chosen. Teal and purple represent sexual assault and intimate partner violence awareness. In 2021, hints of green were added to represent mental health awareness and reflect the organization's growing focus on mental health and healing.

The symbol itself came after an extensive search for something that could represent strength, resilience, and unity. After searching for a “universal survival symbol,” Arlana found the symbol that would become part of Project S.A.V.E's identity.

The symbol was created by survivor Jackie Lin in solidarity with Lady Gaga. During the 2016 Oscars, Lady Gaga joined 50 sexual assault survivors on stage during a performance of “Til It Happens to You,” creating a powerful moment of solidarity and collective strength. When asked how she knew it was the right symbol, Arlana explained:

“This symbol represents unbelievable resilience and strength. I wanted a symbol that people could look at and know that through the pain we were united, but through the power of unity we are empowered.”

Today, the symbol represents more than the organization. It represents resilience, unity, strength, and the belief that healing is possible.

In Their Words

“I came to Project S.A.V.E through a referral from another agency. I was skeptical at first, due to my history. But after speaking and seeing how much they cared, I never wanted to lose contact.
